Finding My Place At The Feet of Jesus

“Therefore, I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven-as her great love has shown. But whoever has been forgiven little loves little” Luke 7:47 Have you ever felt like you could never be found worthy enough to be used by God? Perhaps you lack the education so many have. Maybe your past has left you feeling like God could never choose someone with your wounded heart and scars. God’s word would disagree! We all have wounds and scars and demons that we battle. We all fall short, and for some beautiful reason, these are the people that God sets apart and calls.
I have always connected with the story of the sinful woman in Luke 7.
I would imagine that she had heard stories of this Jewish man who was often seen hanging out with “sinners” like her. I would imagine that, like a lot of women, she spent her life needing validation and love in a world that only looks skin deep. Perhaps she watched Him from afar, witnessing the healings and deliverance of so many. Could she see the tenderness in His eyes as He was amazed at the faith of a centurion whose son He would heal? All we know is that day; she had to get to the feet of Jesus. She must have known that her life would change if she could only be in His presence; all she brought as her offering was an alabaster jar of perfume. Jesus, so moved by her faith, admonished the Pharisees, saying that her faith and love were superior to theirs. Whatever is keeping you from bringing your whole heart before Jesus, know that a broken and contrite heart, He will not despise! He will approve your offering, when you offer it in repentence, love and faith.
